Terms of Service (Mobile App)

Last updated: May 15, 2026

These Terms apply only to the Linesol mobile app for participants who use the mobile app to answer survey questions and receive compensation. Participants using the mobile app cannot create or post studies; customers use the Linesol Dashboard to create and publish studies, which are governed by separate dashboard terms.

Definitions

Participant: A "participant" refers to any app user with an account, regardless of whether they answer any surveys. Participants are governed by these Terms for all actions within the app, including account creation, data management, and answering surveys.

Study: A "study" refers to a complete research project created by a customer through the Dashboard, consisting of multiple question and/or user feature variations. From the participant perspective, "studies" are presented as individual survey questions that participants may answer with yes/no responses or skip. Anonymized survey responses, along with selected self-inputted user features (e.g., age, gender), are returned to Linesol, processed, aggregated, and included in comprehensive reports delivered to the customer. These reports are provided in PDF format along with accompanying CSV data files. These reports may also be accessible to third parties as listed in the Privacy Policy.

0. Scope

These Terms govern use of the Linesol mobile app where participants answer short surveys for compensation. They do not cover the Linesol Dashboard for business customers creating studies; that service is governed by separate dashboard terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Linesol Inc. ("Linesol", "we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, answering survey questions, or otherwise using the Service, the participant agrees to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If the participant does not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The participant must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, the participant represents that they meet this requirement.

3. Description of Service

Linesol is a mobile platform where participants answer short yes/no survey questions for micro-payments (typically $0.05 per response). Customers (via the Linesol web Dashboard) create and publish studies to collect responses and derive insights. Participants using the mobile app cannot create or publish studies. We use aggregated and anonymized survey data to generate datasets and statistical models for clients.

4. Account Responsibilities

The participant is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities that occur under their account. The participant agrees to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

Password recovery not supported: The mobile app currently does not support password recovery. If a participant forgets their password, account access cannot be restored through a recovery flow.

5. Payments to Participants

  • Participants earn compensation of $0.05 for each valid response they submit and complete in a survey. Earnings are legally earned by participants at the time they complete a survey, not at the time of withdrawal. Compensation is granted by Linesol at the time of successful completion, subject to our review for quality, fraud, or compliance.
  • Compensation accumulates as a credit balance in the app, representing Linesol's obligation to pay the participant. This balance reflects earned compensation, not stored user funds.
  • Participants may request withdrawal of their accumulated compensation (above any displayed minimum threshold) to their chosen external payment method. Linesol currently supports two withdrawal methods for participants: (i) fiat payout to Revolut, and (ii) USDC payout to a participant-designated Solana wallet via the withdrawal interface at https://dashboard.linesol.online/usdc.
  • Upon withdrawal request, Linesol will initiate a direct payment from our business account to the participant's designated external account or wallet. Revolut withdrawals are processed through Revolut. USDC withdrawals are processed through Coinbase or another payment or crypto infrastructure provider we use for payout execution, and may be subject to blockchain processing times, network conditions, and any applicable fees displayed in the app or withdrawal interface.
  • We reserve the right to withhold, reverse, or deduct compensation in cases of fraud, spam, low-quality or invalid responses, or violation of these Terms.
  • Important: Linesol does not hold, store, or manage user funds in a custodial capacity. All payments are funded directly from Linesol's revenue and represent one-way transfers initiated by us to fulfill our obligation to pay earned compensation.

6. Payments & Refunds

Participants using the mobile app do not pay subscriptions or fees to use the Service; they only receive payouts as compensation for responses according to the app's TOS and withdrawal mechanisms. Only responses that include Yes or No count as completed responses eligible for compensation; skipped surveys do not earn compensation.

If a participant deletes their account while having a non-zero balance, the remaining balance will no longer be withdrawable and will be forfeited. Participants are encouraged to withdraw their earnings before initiating account deletion.

7. Taxes

All earnings the participant receives from answering surveys on the Service (including micro-payments of typically $0.05 per response) are considered taxable income under applicable tax laws in the participant's country of tax residence. This may include, but is not limited to, income tax, self-employment tax, or other obligations.

The participant is solely responsible for determining, reporting, filing, and paying any and all taxes that apply to their earnings, including any federal, state, local, or international taxes. We do not provide tax advice, and nothing in these Terms or the Service constitutes tax advice. We recommend consulting a qualified tax professional for guidance specific to the participant's situation.

To minimize tax compliance complexity, we implement a hard cap on annual earnings per participant. For calendar years 2026 and later, earnings are capped at below $2,000 per calendar year. Once this threshold is approached, further earning opportunities are disabled until the next calendar year. This ensures that no reporting obligations (such as IRS Form 1099-NEC) are triggered, and no tax forms (such as W-9) are required from the participant.

Non-U.S. residents are not permitted to answer surveys while physically present in the United States. This policy ensures that no reporting obligations (such as IRS Form 1042-S) are triggered, and no tax forms (such as W-8BEN) are required. When physically present in the US, Non-U.S residents are responsible for toggling-on the physical presence in the US toggle in the settings page, which blocks access to the Service, ensuring compliance with this restriction.

By continuing to use the Service and earn compensation, the participant acknowledges and agrees to these tax provisions.

8. Content License & Ownership

Participant grant: By using the Service and consenting to these Terms and the Privacy Policy (including the relevant in-app consent checkbox), the participant grants Linesol an irrevocable, worldwide right to collect, use, process, transform, aggregate, and share anonymized response data for research and analysis purposes.

This includes sharing anonymized raw response datasets with paying clients, including one-hot encoded yes/no answers and associated feature vectors, for market research, AI training, and custom analytics/modeling (including multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), latent-dimension analysis, and composite-variable modeling).

Composite variables: Participants acknowledge and consent that their self-inputted user features may be aggregated, combined, or transformed into composite variables for analytical purposes. Composite variables are calculated and updated on a 24-hour basis. Participants maintain visibility over composite features in the app and may opt out of providing specific values by selecting "rather not say" or equivalent opt-out options where available.

Participants acknowledge that although direct identifiers are removed, a theoretical re-identification risk may exist in rare cases due to unique feature combinations. Shared datasets do not contain direct identifiers such as name, email, precise location, financial account/payment details, or similar direct PII.

Client use of anonymized datasets is limited to internal analysis under contracts that prohibit re-identification attempts, resale or redistribution, and use outside agreed internal research/analytics purposes.

All datasets (including raw and aggregated datasets), model outputs, feature importance reports, optimization recommendations, and derived insights remain the sole property of Linesol. Clients receive only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use permitted anonymized outputs and datasets for internal purposes.

9. Prohibited Conduct

The participant agrees not to:

  • Attempt to manipulate results or automate responses
  • Reverse engineer or scrape the Service in ways that exceed normal usage
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

10. Quality Control & Authenticity Verification

To maintain data quality and protect the integrity of our Service, we employ various methods to verify the authenticity of participant accounts and responses. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Analysis of response patterns, timing, and consistency to detect automated or fraudulent activity
  • Validation of account information and user-provided features for accuracy and authenticity
  • Deployment of fraud detection algorithms and quality control measures
  • Detection of duplicate accounts or coordinated inauthentic behavior
  • Periodic verification checks to ensure participant eligibility and compliance with these Terms

By using the Service, participants consent to these verification measures. We reserve the right to flag, suspend, or terminate accounts and withhold payments if we determine, in our sole discretion, that responses are inauthentic, fraudulent, or violate these Terms. Participants are expected to provide honest and accurate information at all times.

Participants are encouraged to keep their user features up to date to ensure they receive relevant studies that match their profile. To maintain the integrity and reliability of our datasets and prevent abuse (such as repeatedly changing features solely to qualify for additional studies), we apply reasonable limits on the frequency of profile updates. We track update activity and reserve the right to review accounts that show unusually high numbers of changes. In cases of suspected abuse, we may suspend or permanently delete the account. Legitimate updates reflecting real changes in your circumstances (for example, age group, location, employment status, or spending habits) are fully supported. By using the Service, you agree not to manipulate your user features to artificially qualify for more studies.

Where user-feature category names or feature names are used in the participant experience, and where such nomenclature is found to breach these Terms, applicable law, or platform guidelines, Linesol may modify or rename that nomenclature and may also remove, delete, or reject the affected elements.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate the participant's account at any time for violation of these Terms or if we believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. The participant may delete their account at any time, which will trigger data deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, including abuse of the user feature update system or actions that compromise the quality of our research datasets.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE RESPONSE QUALITY, ACCURACY OF INSIGHTS, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINESOL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED $100 IF YOU ARE A PARTICIPANT.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration in Delaware under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court for intellectual property violations.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify participants of material changes in-app (and may also notify by push notification or email where available) before or when the changes become effective. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, and we may require re-acceptance in-app for certain changes.
