Terms of Service (Dashboard)
Last updated: May 26, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating a dashboard account, launching studies, or purchasing responses, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who We Are & Service Description
Linesol, Inc. operates a mobile platform that pays users to answer 10-second yes/no surveys, producing high-quality, structured data for AI training and market research. The dashboard lets you configure and purchase studies, and receive aggregated insights.
3. Eligibility
The dashboard is for business use by individuals 18 years or older.
4. Account Responsibilities
- Keep credentials confidential and restrict access to authorized users.
- Provide accurate account and billing information.
5. Study Content Rules
- No illegal, harmful, discriminatory, or deceptive studies.
- No collection of sensitive personal data about respondents.
- Per study limits: max 40 features; no duplicate features.
- All permutations of question features (image x title x description x price) must produce semantically coherent and complete question cards. Features within the same question category are alternatives; features across different card categories must be independently meaningful when combined.
- Complete Variation Coverage: The unit that matters is the rendered variation the respondent actually sees. If a study is meant to investigate multiple concepts at the same time, every rendered variation must show all of those concepts together. A category is invalid when some features express only one concept and other features express only another concept, because respondents then evaluate incomplete alternatives. If you want to study multiple concepts in the same field, combine them into full variations so each respondent evaluates the complete bundle.
- How Common Study Variations Should Be Represented: Packaging design studies should vary image. Visual identity studies should vary image and, when needed, title or description. Slogan or copy studies should vary title and/or description. Product positioning studies should vary title, description, and optionally image. Price studies should vary price. Prompt-based AI studies should keep the prompt in the title or description and vary the generated response through image or description.
- Example: For the question "Would you buy this product?", it is invalid to use separate description features such as "locally sourced", "overseas sourced", "1 day delivery", and "3 day delivery" when the study is testing sourcing and delivery speed together, because each respondent would see only part of the intended concept bundle. A valid structure is to combine them into full description variations such as "locally sourced, 1 day delivery", "overseas sourced, 1 day delivery", "locally sourced, 3 day delivery", and "overseas sourced, 3 day delivery" so every rendered alternative contains both concepts.
- Price Rule: Price must be numeric only. Do not include a dollar sign or any other currency symbol in the price field. Valid examples: 45, 85, 125. Invalid examples: $45, USD 45, 45 dollars.
- We may reject, pause, or remove studies that breach these rules or applicable law.
5a. Prohibited Content Categories
To maintain a safe and appropriate experience for all platform participants, studies must not contain, reference, or relate to any of the following prohibited content categories:
- Graphic Sexual Content and Nudity: Explicit, detailed depictions of sexual activity or nudity.
- Cartoon or Fantasy Violence: Physical conflict or harm of an exaggerated or fantastical nature that can easily be distinguished from real life.
- Realistic Violence: Aggressive physical conflict or harm involving humans in lifelike situations.
- Prolonged Graphic or Sadistic Realistic Violence: Prolonged detailed or realistic-looking depictions of physical conflict.
- Guns or Other Weapons: References to or depictions of guns, weapons, or objects that may cause bodily harm.
Enforcement: Studies containing any of the above prohibited content will be immediately rejected, paused, or removed from the platform. Repeat violations may result in account suspension or termination. All content is subject to review, and Linesol reserves the right to make final determinations on content appropriateness.
6. Payments and Billing
- Payments are processed via Stripe Checkout; you agree to Stripe's terms and acceptable use.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated in writing.
- Taxes: you are responsible for providing accurate tax details; pricing may exclude taxes unless shown.
6b. Category Governance and Custom Features
Client-Defined Categories: Clients may create custom participant categories and features without prior approval, provided they comply with the Category Governance Rules outlined below.
Category Governance Rules: All categories and features (including client-defined custom ones) must comply with the following rules. For more details, see the User Feature Guidelines.
- No Negation Features: Features must never use negation words such as "non_", "no_", "not_", "without_", or "anti_". Features must be positive assertions.
- No Catch-All Features: Features must not be generic catch-alls like "other", "miscellaneous", "traditional", or "general". Each feature must be specific and atomic.
- Single-Select Per Category: Each participant must select exactly one feature per category. Features within a category must be mutually exclusive.
- Measurable or Specific Definitions: When an attribute can be measured, features should use explicit units and bounded ranges or specific values rather than vague subjective labels. Example: "5-7 hours per week" instead of "moderately active." When an attribute is non-numeric, use specific, atomic categories such as "industry" or "diet_type."
- Specificity of Attribute: Category names must clearly indicate what is being measured and, where applicable, include the unit or time basis. Example: "online_purchases_per_month" instead of "purchasing_behavior".
- Context Independence: Feature and category names must be self-explanatory without reference to study context.
- Hierarchy Through Nomenclature: Start with general categories, then create more granular versions for follow-up studies.
- Extensibility: Custom categories must be designed with future expansion in mind, avoiding situations where new features cannot be added without deleting existing features.
Enforcement and Penalties: Linesol periodically scans all submitted studies and categories for compliance with these rules. Studies containing categories or features that violate these rules will have the non-compliant elements removed or deleted, and Linesol may modify, rename, or standardize category/feature nomenclature (including category names and feature names) to meet these rules, platform consistency requirements, or legal obligations. If a study cannot function without those elements, the entire study may be rejected or removed from the platform. Clients with repeated violations of Category Governance Rules may have their studies restricted or their account suspended. Final determinations on category compliance and nomenclature are made by Linesol.
6c. API Rate Limiting and Service Limits
- Rate Limiting: The dashboard API is subject to rate limits (requests per minute) to ensure service stability. Exceeding limits results in a 429 response; implement exponential backoff.
- Study Limits: Each study is limited to a maximum of 40 features (survey questions/fields). Duplicate features within a study are not permitted.
- Image Upload Limit: Image uploads are limited to a maximum request size of 20 MBper submission. Uploads that exceed this limit may be rejected during dashboard or API-based study creation.
- Request Validation: Requests violating these limits will be rejected with a descriptive error message.
6d. Feature Value Length Limits
All feature values (titles, descriptions, prices, question text) are subject to character length restrictions to ensure optimal platform performance and user experience:
- When No Images Are Present: Question text is limited to a maximum of 100 characters, title to 100 characters, description to250 characters, and price to24 characters.
- When Images are Present: When image features are included in your study, stricter limits apply to optimize display on mobile devices:
- Question text: maximum 47 characters
- Title: maximum 47 characters
- Description: maximum 182 characters
- Price: maximum 24 characters
- Validation: Feature values exceeding these limits will be rejected during study creation with a descriptive error message indicating which field(s) exceed the limit and by how many characters.
- These limits apply to both web dashboard submissions and API-based study creation.
7. Data and Outputs
- We own all underlying and derived datasets generated through the platform, including raw and aggregated datasets, models, reports, and insights.
- Clients may receive dashboard outputs including: (i) results PDF reports, (ii) results CSV files, and (iii) raw anonymized one-hot encoded CSV files.
- We do not guarantee delivery of any outputs, including raw anonymized one-hot encoded CSV files, results CSV files, or PDF reports, where the study design is poor or non-viable, including but not limited to: studies with too few or too many participants, too few features, conflicting or incompatible user features, or response distributions that are all "yes," all "no," or otherwise heavily skewed in one direction.
- We do not guarantee participant presence on the platform at any given time, and we do not guarantee the response rate or completion time for any study.
- For study quality and reliable outputs, we recommend a minimum of 200 participants, with total participants at least 20 times the number of evaluated features (question card + user features). For enhanced insights: Larger samples (e.g., 500+ participants) often yield more robust findings, better predictive accuracy, and greater confidence in your conclusions.
- Raw anonymized one-hot encoded CSV files may be used for internal analysis only, including advanced methods such as multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) for latent dimensions or composite variables.
- Clients may request the addition of a composite variable to the platform by emailing hello@linesol.online with: (i) the composite variable name, (ii) the formula for aggregation/calculation, (iii) the bucket size for categorization, and (iv) the start point or range boundaries. Linesol will review and may implement approved composite variables at its sole discretion. Once implemented, composite variables are calculated and updated on a 24-hour basis.
- Any license granted to clients is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and internal-use-only. Clients may not attempt re-identification, resell, redistribute, disclose, sublicense, or otherwise share raw or output data with third parties unless expressly authorized in writing by Linesol.
- Upon Linesol request, clients must promptly delete specified raw/exported files and confirm deletion.
7a. AI Disclosure (per ICC/ESOMAR 2025 Code)
This report's analysis and insights are generated through a fully automated, machine learning–integrated data analysis pipeline with no per-study human review or intervention. System-level design and validation ensure methodological integrity. All outputs use anonymized, aggregated participant data only.
7b. Data Integrity and Participant Profiles
We maintain controls on participant user feature updates to protect the statistical reliability of the datasets provided to clients. These controls include reasonable limits on update frequency and the right to review or remove accounts that appear to engage in abusive behavior. Clients acknowledge that all datasets are generated from real participant responses and that we take reasonable steps to minimize gaming or low-quality data. We make no guarantee that every dataset will be free of all invalid responses, but we apply good-faith efforts to maintain integrity.
To ensure a diverse and balanced participant pool, we cap the overrepresentation score for any single feature at 40%. For example, if four age groups are selected, we ensure that no single age group makes up more than 35% of the dataset (calculated as 25% x 1.4). This helps preserve data quality and integrity.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Abuse, fraud, scraping, or attempts to interfere with platform integrity.
- Bypassing platform limits or circumventing billing.
- Submitting studies that would violate law or third-party rights.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations, suspected fraud, or legal risk. You may stop using the dashboard at any time; account deletion will be handled per our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, including abuse of participant feature update systems or actions that compromise dataset quality or platform integrity.
10. Disclaimers
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THESE TERMS, ALL DATASETS, REPORTS, AND ANALYTICAL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any outputs.
Raw anonymized datasets may contain unique combinations of feature values that could create a theoretical re-identification risk in rare cases. Clients must not attempt to identify, infer, or link any participant identity from feature values or by combining data with external sources.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Linesol's liability is limited to the fees you paid for the dashboard in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify Linesol against claims arising from your studies, content, breach of these Terms, or misuse of platform data/outputs. This includes claims, damages, penalties, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from prohibited re-identification attempts, unlawful sharing, resale/redistribution, or other unauthorized use of anonymized datasets.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Delaware law. Disputes will be resolved via binding arbitration in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property or confidential information.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated via the dashboard or email.
14a. Cookies and Session Management
We use Firebase Authentication, which sets essential session cookies from Google to enable secure login and maintain your session. These are strictly necessary and exempt from consent. These cookies do not track your behavior across third-party websites and are deleted when you close your browser session or log out.
